Refunds
All sales are final. We do not give refunds. Your trees and/or bushes will be checked by our staff and verified as to their health at the time of distribution. Please inspect your order when you pick it up. You can refuse it if you have a valid issue with quality of the product. However, once you leave the distribution location with the tree(s) and/or bush(es), you will not be able to obtain a refund.
If you purchase items and later decide that you do not want them, we cannot give you a refund. You can let us know that you do not want them, and we will donate them to a local charity. We cannot refund any of the money that you have paid, but we will give you a receipt for your donation and think positively about you for helping a deserving organization plant a tree to improve our environment.
Our no refund policy is necessary because we have been entrusted with a great responsibility to use the money from this fund-raiser to provide conservation focused resources to this community as prudently as possible. We have to secure the trees from a nursery, which means we have to contract with the nursery for the trees. Therefore, we have to pay for them even if someone changes their mind. To be good stewards of our funding, it is necessary that we institute a strict “No Refund” policy.
Warranty
We do not give any warranty with your tree and/or bush order. Inspect your items when you pick them up. If you have any reason to believe that they are not of good quality, you can refuse them at that time. Once you leave the premises with them at distribution, they are yours, and we will no longer be responsible for refund or replacement. In other words, if you kill it, we can’t give you your money back.
Payment
Your credit or debit card will be charged at the time you place your order. We will provide you with the Distribution date, time, and location once we have that information to give you. Once you have paid, the sale is final. We cannot issue a refund for any reason unless we are not able to provide the items that you have ordered. Picking Up Your Order
You will need to pick up your order on Distribution Day. We will give you the date, time, and location once it is available, which will be a few weeks prior to pick-up. You are responsible for picking up your order. Make sure you write the date and time on your calendar. Also you can subscribe to our Facebook page (Garrett Soil Conservation District) to receive a reminder post.
WE CANNOT SHIP OR DELIVER ORDERS! If you cannot come for any reason, you will need to arrange for someone else to pick up for you.
If you do not pick up your order, we will donate it to a local charity to be planted, but we cannot give you a refund. So, if it does happen that you forget, at least you will have the solace of knowing that some local organization thinks you’re a great person for the donation.
If you have an emergency on the date of distribution YOU NEED TO CALL US THAT DAY SO WE DON’T DONATE YOUR TREES ELSEWHERE, and our staff will entertain the notion of allowing you to pick up at a different time, however, that is only in the event of an emergency, and is at our staff’s discretion. “I forgot” is not an emergency.
Pick-up is in Garrett County, Maryland
Please do not order if you live too far away to pick up your order in Garrett County, Maryland. We do NOT offer a shipping option.
Donations Accepted
If you want to help but do not have a place to plant a tree, you can purchase one or more trees to be donated. We will donate them to a local organization on your behalf, or if you have a specific organization that has said they would like to have your tree(s), you can let us know and we will contact them. We can give you a receipt for your donation. Planting trees helps reduce the carbon in our atmosphere and that improves our world in so many ways.
