Our Sale
Who is sponsoring this sale?
Garrett Soil Conservation District
We are located in Mt. Lake Park, MD at 1916 Maryland Hwy., Ste C, next to Freedom Ag.
It is our mission to help conserve our natural resources such as soil and water by providing education, guidance, and by applying for funding on behalf of Garrett County farmers and landowners for conservation practices they wish to implement.
We also do outreach, such as scholarships, student contests, Envirothon for high school students in Garrett County, and demonstrations to help students and the community learn about conservation.
Our tree sale helps us to continue offering these services.
How the Tree Sale Works
Order and pay on this site. We will contact you and give you information about the date and location of pick-up. You will have to pick up your trees and bushes. We do not offer shipping or delivery. The pick-up location will be in Garrett County, Maryland.
The last day to order will be in April 2024. Exact date will be announced after the beginning of the year. Pick-up dates will be announced as they draw closer.
If you do not pick up your order, we will donate it to a local organization, but we cannot give you a refund. It is your responsibility to arrange for pick-up by someone you know if you cannot get there yourself.
All sales are final. Someone from our office will verify that your ordered trees and bushes are in good shape when they are ready for pick-up. Once you take possession of your trees and bushes, you are responsible for them. We cannot give any refunds.
The Purchase That Does More
There are a lot of businesses that sell plants and bushes in the area, but there is only one Garrett Soil Conservation District Tree Sale.
Last year was the first time Garrett County had a tree sale through the Soil Conservation District, but other Districts all over Maryland have them every year. That’s because trees are important to conservation.
You can feel good about purchases from the Tree Sale because you are not only helping the environment, but you are also helping the GSCD help our community.
Trees and bushes improve soil and air, and they provide food and shelter for wildlife. They can raise the value of a property, and they can provide food and/or beauty for owners. And, with so much to offer, they also make great gifts!
